CONDITIONS

Be a beekeeper for a day visiting our hives in Bedaio: an activity as suitable as interesting for all ages. We will start the day with a 2-hour visit to our apiary. During the visit you will learn up close all the secrets of the protagonists who produce our delicious homemade honey and the work that we, the beekeepers, do. We will give you everything you need for visiting the hives. After entering this unknown world, you will taste the different products that we make at home. We will spend a magnificent morning surrounded by nature, under the Basque mountains.

After getting to know the universe of the bees from the beekeepers, we will go to the Ordizia or Tolosa farmers’ market to learn about Basque gastronomic products up close. While we get to know the market, we will taste some of the local products.

Finally, we will visit a Basque cider house. In the cider cellar, you will learn the history of the farmhouse, the family that owns it, and the process of cider making. While you tour the apple orchard, the production area and the cellars, you will taste different homemade ciders directly from the barrels and also from the bottles. At the end, you will enjoy the traditional cider house menu: cod omelette, fried cod with peppers, T-bone steak, Idiazabal cheese, quince and walnuts. During the meal, you can taste different natural ciders directly from the barrels and also in bottles. What are you waiting for to embark on this adventure with us?

* The Ordizia farmers’ market is on Wednesdays and the Tolosa market is on Saturdays. If you book the experience for any other day, we will replace the visit to the market with a visit to the town of Tolosa and a tasting of local products.

Our guide will meet you in Donostia-San Sebastián. We will visit the Igartubeiti farmhouse (16th century) and a cheese factory where we will taste Idiazabal D.O. cheese, and then go to one of our cider cellars and take a small tour of the apple orchard and all of the cider house facilities. We will also taste Basque cider in the bottle and directly from the barrels. After that, we will enjoy the traditional cider house menu.
